YOUNG ARTISTS OF PENNSYLVANIA: THE INNOVATION GENERATION

May 25 - July 8, 2007

Sat., Sun.11am - 5pm

Gas rising, temperature soaring, minds colliding to bring an exhibition of art so hot you won’t want to miss it.  The Anita Shapolsky Art Foundation is proud to sponsor its first Young Artists of Pennsylvania exhibition entitled The Innovation Generation featuring art work from artists 28 and under who reside in Pennsylvania.  This exhibition, curated by Bethany Jurewicz of Hazleton and Ryan Hnat of Coaldale, is to expand the public’s knowledge of contemporary art forms and new methods of using technology with art.  From a ceiling fan on a wall to a TV mounted inside a cast puppet, these artists are trying to express themselves in new and innovative ways.  Exhibition dates are May 25-July 8, 2007.

The Anita Shapolsky Art Foundation is based out of a historical church built in 1849.  The foundation’s main focus is abstract expressionist art with very large paintings.  These paintings occupy the upstairs where the church’s historical stained glass windows are on display, while downstairs galleries showcase The Innovation Generation exhibition.

The Anita Shapolsky Art Foundation is open to the public on the weekends, Saturday and Sunday, 11am-5pm.  Expanded Memorial Day Weekend hours include Friday and Monday, 11am-5pm.  An opening reception for The Innovation Generation will offer food, drink and music on  Saturday, May 26th from 3-5pm

Please come out and support these new and upcoming artists from Pennsylvania’s own backyard.
