*****AUGUST FEATURED EVENT******

ARTIST DEMO – MICHAEL DOMINICK CREATES “MOLTEN IRON DRAWINGS” AT 2,800 DEGREE F. AS HE POURS AND MANIPULATES LIQUID IRON ON PAPER WHICH BURNS AND SMOKES LEAVING BEHIND COMPLEX GESTURAL DRAWINGS THAT PERMANENTLY SEAL THE INSTANT OF THEIR MAKING.

*****SAT., AUG., 16, 3PM*****

“There is no advance planning other than specially preparing the paper,” says Dominick, who persuades the liquid fire on its collision course with the picture plane.

The drawings are reminiscent of the works of Jackson Pollock, but unlike the maestro, Dominick’s drawings come into being in a matter of seconds.  No two are the same, and each one successfully captures the chaos of the moment in a dynamic, spontaneous and visually compelling manner.

ALSO ON VIEW NOW THRU SEPTEMBER 28, 2008:

  • ABSTRACT PAINTINGS OF SEYMOUR BOARDMAN, JOHN HULTBERG, ERNEST BRIGGS AND OTHERS.
  • RADIATOR SCULPTURE OF MICHAEL DOMINICK
  • COLLECTION OF WORLD/ETHNIC MASKS, JOE WILKENS.
